You might have heard about Joseph II’s royal physician, Doctor Zwack. But do you know what the origin of the first Hungarian neon signs is? And have you seen one of the country’s most famous posters? The history of the Zwack family gives answer for these kinds of interesting questions.
Film
The Unicum House is waiting for you with an exciting novelty! In the Visitor Centre you can discover the legendary history of the Zwack family, its iconic moments and unforgettable commercials in a special 270° ever-changing film projection.
Exhibition
In the exhibition hall, you can learn about the history of Unicum, the herbal liqueur based on a secret recipe that has been around for more than 230 years, and see more and more special bottles made by the Zwack J. and Co. factory, famous for its speciality liqueurs. The exhibits include the oldest Unicumos bottle in our possession, a special postcard from the First World War, Endre Ady's poems to Mylitta, Péter Zwack's aunt, and a Swedish passport issued to Péter Zwack by Raoul Wallenberg. Images of the change of regime will be revealed and you will be taken to the present day, where you will also discover the moments of the introduction of the world first Unicum Plum.
Guests arriving in groups (over 15 people) will be shown around by a guide immediately after the screening. Individual visitors can explore the exhibition with a free audio guide after the distillery and cellar tour.
To complete the experience, you can use QR codes in our exhibition to view more film clips, reports and family stories.
On our digital totem pole, you can play different Unicum-themed games, such as sorting bottles or finding out the ingredients in Unicum's secret recipe!

Old Distilllery and Unicum’s Cellar
The old distillery building was built in 1892, and since then Unicum has been made here, which is why it is called the "Heart of Unicum". This immaculate, ivy-covered building has been restored from period photographs, so visitors can enjoy the atmosphere of the distillery in its original state. You can see our distillation apparatus, which dates back over 100 years, giant stone jars used for extracting and a range of fragrant herbs that could be the makings of Unicum's secret recipe.
During the visit, you will be able to get a glimpse of some of the corridors of Unicum's more than 500 oak barrel cellars, where Unicum is aged for months. Visitors can taste the original Unicum and Unicum Plum on our standard tour, and Unicum Barista, Unicum Orange Bitter and Unicum Riserva on our premium tour, tapped straight from the oak barrels, to discover the distinctive aromas and a cavalcade of delicious flavours.

A program időtartama kb. 2 óra és a következő programelemeket tartalmazza: immerzív filmvetítés (20 perc), múzeumi tárlatvezetés (~20 perc), lepárló és pincelátogatás kóstolóval (~30 perc), szabadulószoba program (30-50 perc). A szabadulószobai feladatok megoldásához szükséges információk a szabadulószoba előtt tartott vezetett túrán hangoznak el, így a program sorrendje nem változtatható!
A programon maximum 6 fős csoportok részvételét ajánljuk.
